why we do what we do
At Motherhood Photography we believe that as mothers we need to encourage and support each other - now more than ever. Social media sites, blogs and forums have made it more possible for moms to connect with other moms and to seek support, but it has also created a dangerously toxic and judgmental environment where mothers get attacked for their parenting choices. As mothers we should be most compassionate and understanding toward one another. We should value each other's opinions and choices and trust that each mother will choose what is best for her little ones and for her family. We should give each other support with kind words and only give advice and our opinions when asked.
We hope you will follow us in our journey to make a difference in another mom's life each day, whether it's telling a mom who is struggling with a screaming child that she will get through this phase or simply lending a hand getting a stroller unfolded. We know how much kind and encouraging words are needed when you are a mother.
Why we do what we do... well, we know from our own experience that one day you are holding your precious baby in your arms and you blink and they are off to school. We want to document the beauty of maternity, the preciousness of a newborn baby and the milestones of the first year for you. We want to capture moments that will flee in the blink of an eye and preserve them so that generations coming will know their history, so that they will see the love that each generation had for the other.
“I can only note that the past is beautiful because one never realizes an emotion at the time. It expands later, and thus we don't have complete emotions about the present, only about the past.”
